10/3/2023 0 Comments Blanc noir pornstarYou’ve seen Pinocchio before – perhaps once already this year, with the Robert Zemeckis’ Disney remake – but not quite like Guillermo Del Toro and Mark Gustafson’s Pinocchio. What more could you want? (Apart from velociraptors wrestling with the existence of God.) Two great films for the price of one, Hansen-Love’s wistful delicate filmmaking and a great set-piece set to ABBA’s ‘The Winner Take It All’. Delightfully, around halfway through, the story Chris is cooking up takes over the film with a New York based filmmaker (Mia Wasikowska) reconnecting with her first love (Anders Danielsen Lie) in what feels like an unseen Linklater flick. Not a homage to, nor a parody of, cinema’s chief miserablist, Hansen-Love draws droll comic relief from Bergo’s back-catalogue in a lighter, warmer, breezier story of young screenwriter Chris (a terrific Vicky Krieps) finding her voice on Fårö, the literal and spiritual home of the filmmaking titan. While it would be tempting to reimagine Mia Hansen-Love’s Bergman Island as an arthouse Jurassic Park - a group of happy-go-lucky visitors are terrorised by a pack of genetically engineered Swedish depressives - the actual film itself is a mini marvel of a movie. Read Empire’s list of the best movies of 2022 below, and get ready for 2023 – a certain Indiana Jones awaits… Across these 12 months, movies have taken us to all kinds of new worlds and experiences – from berserker Viking brawls, to fluffy panda-shaped puberty, to 1980s film school, and to the Comanche nation to face down one ugly motherfu–– well, you get the picture. As usual, we’re running from UK release dates (yes, we know some of these were 2021 in the States no, we haven’t got Pearl or Marcel The Shell With Shoes On yet), and are looking at films released both on the big screen, and beamed straight into our living rooms (which, half the time, we also wished we were watching in a cinema). Those individual ballots were totted up into the Top 20 below. With all the year’s major releases now out, the members of Team Empire were polled for their top 10 films of 2022. As Vin Diesel perhaps said it best: “The movies.” And it’s been a year of comebacks – not just from Pete ‘Maverick’ Mitchell, but the cinema itself. It’s been a year of auteurs taking on gigantic budgets and doing fascinating things with them. It’s been a year of searing social commentary, delivered in the form of gripping crowdpleasers. It’s been the year of the multiverse, both in the MCU and beyond. It’s been a doozy – with picturehouses back open and in full swing, massive blockbusters sweeping across screens and into our eyeballs, and all kinds of cinematic surprises winning our hearts. Here we are: somehow it’s December already, 2022 has flown by at Mach 10 speed, and it’s already time to tot up the very best movies of the year.

10/3/2023 0 Comments 60 days before todayUnder the Gregorian calendar, century years not divisible by 400 would not be leap years. An adjustment was also made to the algorithm of the Julian calendar that changed which century years would be considered leap years. Pope Gregory XIII addressed this by essentially skipping 10 days in the date, making the day after October 4, 1582, October 15. By 1582, this resulted in a difference of 10 days from what was expected. He also added the intercalation of a leap day every fourth year, all in an attempt to further synchronize the Roman calendar with the solar year.ĭespite all efforts, the Julian calendar still required further reform, since the calendar drifted with respect to the equinoxes and solstices by approximately 11 minutes per year. In order to accomplish this, Caesar inserted an additional 10 days into the Republican calendar, making the total number of days in a year 365. In 46 BC, the calendar was further reformed by Julius Caesar, introducing an algorithm that removed the dependence of calendars from the observation of the new moon. From this point, many attempts were made to align the Republican calendar with the solar year including the addition of an extra month to certain years to supplant the lack of days in a particular year. The Republican calendar later used by Rome followed Greek calendars in its assumptions of 29.5 days in a lunar cycle and 12.5 synodic months in a solar year, which align every fourth year upon the addition of the intercalary months of January and February. This calendar allowed the summer and winter months to become completely misplaced, leading to the adoption of more accurate calendars. The Romans were then believed to have adopted a 10-month calendar with 304 days, leaving the remaining 50 or so days as an unorganized winter. The ancient Roman calendar was believed to be an observational lunar calendar, based on the cycles of the moon's phases. The Gregorian calendar is a reformed version of the Julian calendar, which was itself a modification of the ancient Roman calendar. The months of April, June, September, and November have 30 days, while the rest have 31 days except for February, which has 28 days in a standard year, and 29 in a leap year. Within this calendar, a standard year consists of 365 days with a leap day being introduced to the month of February during a leap year. The Gregorian calendar is the most prevalently used calendar today. 10/3/2023 0 Comments Unite fitness flywheelRunner Up: I like the Yoga Sculpt class at Core Power Yoga, but its not my favorite for a traditional flow. I also really like Jillian's sculpt class and Lisa's Saturday morning 75 minute class, it has great flows! Go to 5pm Sunday with Rachel for a chill way to unwind after a long week, try Brittany's Tuesday or Thursday classes for more of a challenge (but she knows her stuff) or take a Monday slow-flow with Megan to start your week off on the right foot. Then, it updates the ref pointers to point at this new revert commit and makes it the branch tip.īear in mind, Git revert doesn’t undo a commit in a project history it reverses the changes done in the offending commit and appends a new commit with the opposite effect. Rather than going in manually, fixing the bug, and committing a new snapshot, Git revert will automatically do all the work for you. The ability to Git revert a previous commit comes in handy when you’re tracking down a bug and discover that it was introduced via a single commit. This process stops Git from losing history, which is vital for the revision history’s integrity and promoting smooth, reliable collaboration. Rather than removing the commit in question from the project history, the Git revert figures out how to invert (or reverse) the changes created by the commit, then appends a new commit containing the new inversed content. Or if a previous commit added a line of code to a Python file, a Git revert done on that previous commit will remove the offending line. For instance, if a commit added a file called wombat.html to the repository, the Git revert can remove that file. Git revert removes all the changes that a single commit made to the source code repository. Git revert is a safe, forward-moving alternative to Git reset when faced with the possibility of losing work. The Git revert commit command is an "undo" operation that provides users with a careful, less intrusive way to undo changes. You’re welcome to share your experiences, comments, and suggestions in the chat section below. Before we answer the question "How do you revert Git commit?" we need to explain the command. In general, a golf cart battery can sit for about 2-3 weeks without charging. The lifespan of a golf cart battery depends on a variety of factors, including the type of battery, the age and condition of the battery, and how it’s used and maintained. How Long Can a Golf Cart Sit Without Charging? They are often used in higher-end golf carts and are more commonly found in electric cars and other vehicles. Lithium-ion batteries are not as common in golf carts as lead-acid batteries, but they are becoming more popular. They also have a longer lifespan and can be charged more quickly than lead-acid batteries. They are lighter and more compact, which can make them easier to install and transport. Lithium-ion batteries are newer and more expensive than lead-acid batteries, but they offer some significant advantages. However, if it’s not maintained properly or used infrequently, it may lose its charge more quickly and have a shorter lifespan. If a battery is well-maintained and used regularly, it can last for several years. The lifespan of a lead-acid battery depends on a variety of factors, including how well it’s maintained and how it’s used. If they are left sitting for an extended period without use or charging, they can lose their charge and eventually become damaged. They are designed to be discharged and recharged regularly, and they are the most common type of battery used in golf carts. Lead-acid batteries are made up of lead plates and an electrolyte solution. Lithium-ion batteries are newer and more expensive, but they offer some significant advantages over lead-acid batteries, including faster charging times and longer lifespans. They are durable and reliable, and they are also relatively inexpensive. Lead-acid batteries are the most common type and have been used for many years. 10/3/2023 0 Comments Sa vs british lions scoreInterestingly, for Lions rugby history buffs, the closing provincial club fixture in Port Elizabeth was only finalised in January 2009 when SARU were able to confirm that they had received permission from the South African government to hold the match on the Youth Day national holiday on 16th of June. This was game would mark the debut of the Southern Kings at international level, a rugby franchise created in the Southern and Eastern Cape, as a result of the Southern Spears going out of business. The tour schedule was subsequently published jointly by the Lions and the South African Rugby Union (SARU) in April 2008. Gerald Davies was appointed tour manager and Ian McGeechan as head coach, with Munster captain and Ireland lock, Paul O'Connell named captain of the squad. He also went on to say that the total Lions squad would be smaller than in 2005 with both fewer players and support staff travelling to South Africa. History behind the Lions 2009 South Africa tourįollowing confirmation of the tour by the South African Rugby Union in September 2007, Lions chief executive John Feehan announced in the November that there would be no Test match played on home soil prior to departure, as had been the case with New Zealand in 2005. Exhibiting nerves of steel, Morné Steyn set about his build up as if this was a club match, trotted forward, made perfect contact with the boot and sent a monster of a kick sailing through the uprights to win the match 28–25. The clock ticked down, two minutes into injury time, and with a draw looking inevitable the referee awarded the Springboks a penalty 52 metres out. Two minutes after that, Stephen Jones took cool and clinical advantage of a penalty decision to tie the sides on 25 points apiece with only a couple of minutes left. It was at that point when the tourists suddenly went 25–22 behind, and the game turned into a thriller. Nevertheless, it was the second test that shone through as the highlight of the series, which incidentally the Lions had led until the 76th minute. Finally the tables turned in the third Test which the Lions won 28–9. The Test series results were tight in the first two games, with South African taking the honours beating the Lions 26–21 in the first Test, and then 28–25 in the second Test. In terms of results, The Lions won all six provincial matches and drew with the Emerging Springboks, 13–13, an excellent result for South Africa’s stars in waiting. They also took on six provincial teams, along with a game against South Africa's A team, the Emerging Springboks. The last tour to South Africa ran from May to July 2009, including a three-match Test series in which the British and Irish Lions played their hosts in Durban, Pretoria and Johannesburg. Meant in the most sporting manner you understand and by the way might I remind you tickets and hotel packages will go on sale soon. If you happen to have been a fan of the Lions for three quarters of your lifespan as I have, the return of the British and Irish Lions to South Africa has all the hallmarks of a revenge tour. 10/3/2023 0 Comments Dwarf fortress wiki carpI've done some editing, trying to make the page more factual. You know, this test has shown me that Toady's hardwork is finally paying off. Isolate them or remove their water advantage (by having your dwarf be a swimmmer) and their combat prowess quickly goes away. That is, they fight in packs and have an underwater advantage. Conclusion: Carps are still dangerous, but they're dangerous in the RIGHT way.The 3rd test produced similar results, only this one drowned. He mashed open his left ear and somehow on of them mangled his arm. There weren’t any carp in the version I used to play years ago. Here are just a few of those stories: I just recently started playing the 40d version. The dwarf fell into the water and tried to fight them off. Posted on Jby taran Stories of murderous carp have been a part of the Dwarf Fortress lore ever since they were introduced. My 2nd test was a more "natural" one - a fully clothed dwarf vs.However, the two seemingly fought forever in the water thanks to the new material system's wonkiness. It got so bad the carp actually ran away. Once he stopped drowning he became a far better fighter. In my first test, the fight took so long the dwarf ended up skilling up in swimming. The dwarf's punches will bruise the carp and can tear open the flesh, while the carp's bites and tail lashes can bruise the hell out of just about every part of the dwarf, including organs, but can't do much else beyond that. A skilless and naked dwarf, however, will have a very difficult time fighting off even a single carp. It's not a blood bath anymore, in that there is no clear victor. In the interest of science I have run a bunch of tests on carps vs. If someone wants scary carp, they may have to play 40d - and unless carp are scary in 30.01, there's no reason to pretend they are, or ever were.- Albedo 18:15, 8 April 2010 (UTC) With an admitted tinge from nostalgia, I'm hiding/editing all such references unless/until the community agrees that they are still as dangerous as before. The whole copied/pasted section from 40d is suspect, as are many of the other references. Additionally, a previous test in Arena mode showed that while Carp do cause dwarves to dodge into the water, they don't inflict any significant damage, instead simply resulting in the dwarf drowning. The newly added content of this page seems suspect - looking at the raws for FISH_CARP, I do not see any references to damage amounts of "1-6". The format of the previous article made it look like the entire article was Dwarf Humor, when only the very top was. either lock your fort down or consider abandoning.I liked the "D for Dwarfhumor" part from the 40d Article but I think it belongs on the bottom of the page instead of the top. Dwarf Fortress is a game for Windows, Linux and Mac, developed by Bay 12 Games featuring two modes of play ( Fortress and Adventurer ), as well as distinct, randomly-generated worlds (complete with terrain, wildlife and legends ), gruesome combat mechanics and ubiquitous dwarven alcohol dependency. Skeletal creatures leave a skull and bones, which can be used immediately by a bone carver. It will eventually rot completely to leave a pile of bones. When defeated, a zombie leaves a rotten corpse which should be disposed of to avoid miasma. Both types appear to be immune to critical hits against organs, making crits with piercing weapons meaningless, although they can still be dismembered by an axe or knocked across the screen with a hammer. Zombies start with brown and grey wounds to several of their organs skeletons start with grey (missing) wound status on all their organs. The average dwarf can easily run away from zombie carp, but skeletal carp are a vile force of darkness which should be feared by anyone who confronts them.Īll undead are promoted to level 1 building destroyers, allowing them to deconstruct wooden doors/hatches, statues, windows, archery targets, and wooden supports. While this is only a minor nuisance most of the time, groups of undead carp can pose a serious threat to even a well trained squad.
